"Prayer in action is love, love in action is service." - Mother Teresa

The Hab Community, inspired by the spiritual legacy of Fr. Bede Griffiths, and established in NYC by Adam Bucko, is an ecumenical and interspiritual contemplative fellowship which offers formation in radical spirituality and sacred activism.

HAB NYC** meets to practice contemplative prayer, meditation and karma yoga. Our goal is to create a space of deep prayerful receptivity and listening where everyone can touch the essence of their calling, affirm their gifts, and be inspired to live deeply from the heart in service of compassion and justice. We meet to pray and study with the hope of committing our lives to a process of transformation where we can learn how to “be the change we want to see in the world”. Each of our meetings includes contemplative silence, a short teaching, and heartful conversation. Afterwards, we will often go to the streets to share food and friendship with homeless folk living on the streets of our city. There is a weekly meeting on Mondays at 7pm.

**Please note that HAB NYC is currently on hiatus until further notice. During this time we will continue to post updates and relevant information on our Facebook page, so please do stay connected to our work or to the larger work of the Hab Community via the site, linked above.
