CTZNWELL is currently involved with the Fight for $15 movement, and is excited to hold a teach-in on the subject at Third Root on Sunday March 6 at 6:45 PM. This event is leading up to a state wide action for living wage. Asana practice and discussion led by Ximena Savitch & Aditi Dhruv.
Yogis and meditators from all over the city have been partnering for over a year to support the striking low-wage workers asking for a raise to the minimum wage. This issue could be decided on by the end of March and deeply impact 3 million people in New York state. Our practice challenges us to create unity and wellbeing not just within ourselves, but to play a role in creating the conditions of wellbeing for all people, and that includes economic justice. Teach-ins are happening at studios and centers across the city to build support for this important issue.
CTZNWELL is pleased to host one at Third Root on March 6 from 6:45-8, led by Third Root teacher Ximena Savitch and supported by Aditi Dhruv (Third Root teacher alum), and visited by a minimum-wage worker who will share their story. We will also be sharing information about a very important upcoming day of action on March 15, where we will accompany the workers to Albany and provide wellbeing support. If you are interested, please come to the teach-in, or visit www.ctznwell.org/wage for more info and to express interest in the March 15 action day.
